SKE48 is an idol group that was formed in Sakae, Nagoya in July 2008 as the first step in AKB48's nationwide expansion, which is based in Akihabara, Tokyo. It was named SKE48 (pronounced S-K-E Forty-Eight) after the first letter of its home base, Sakae. It later became the pioneer of the 48 Project, which expanded throughout Japan and the world.
The SKE48 Theater, located on the second floor of SUNSHINE SAKAE, an entertainment building in Sakae, Nagoya, that is symbolized by a Ferris wheel, hosts daily performances consisting of singing, dancing, and talk segments by the S, KII, and E teams, as well as the trainees.
On March 18, 2026, they released their 36th single, "Sandals da ze".
