Fanplus Inc. (Head office: Shibuya-ku, Tokyo; CEO: Gen Sato; hereinafter referred to as "the Company"), which operates fan sites for music artists, is pleased to announce that it has begun demonstrating a new distribution model that incorporates the cryptocurrency "FPL" in a way that allows it to be used in actual experiences and distribution, utilizing the next-generation entertainment marketplace "Fanpla Market" provided by its collaborative partner, Fanpla Inc. (Head office: Shibuya-ku, Tokyo; CEO: Takemitsu Hirai; hereinafter referred to as "Fanpla").
As the first step in this initiative, we have begun accepting applications for a lottery sale of a limited number of 100 pieces (20 of which will be available as tokens on Fanpla Market) of the ukiyo-e print "Kizaru Otoko Yoninshu Ookubi Soroi" (The Great Set of Four Yellow Monkeys), commemorating the 35th anniversary of the formation of THE YELLOW MONKEY, from Wednesday, January 28, 2026.

[Background of the initiative]
- Towards a new system that supports fan experiences and value circulation -
Up until now, Fanplus has designed experiences and official distribution that connect artists and fans through fan club management and official stores. However, with physical items and works, there have been challenges such as the difficulty of proving authenticity, managing history, and secondary distribution through official channels.
Additionally, issues have been raised in the fields of Web3 and crypto assets, such as the tendency to be perceived as speculative and the difficulty of linking them to everyday experiences. In response to these circumstances, we believe it is important to incorporate tokens not as an end in themselves, but as a means to support real experiences and valuable circulation. This initiative is an attempt to implement a structure in which tokens are used naturally and circulated, based on the value of real experiences and IP.
*The seller and provider of this work is the IP rights holder, and our company is responsible for verifying the distribution structure and experience design in this initiative.

This initiative involves the integrated design of the following elements:
• Sale of realistic Ukiyo-e artworks
• NFT-based "Digital Card" issued as proof of purchase
• Authenticity and provenance management combining NFC chips and blockchain
• Purchase and distribution experience using cryptocurrency "FPL"
• Support for official secondary distribution that reflects the rights holder's intentions
FPL is not just a means of payment, but is designed as a token that only becomes meaningful when linked to the experiences and value offered on Fanpla Market. By providing a place for the token to be used through the clear use case of purchasing real works, we aim to create economic activity with real demand linked to actual experiences and distribution.
As an important element supporting this structure, we will leverage our fan base of over 4 million people and collaboration with existing IDs to expand the flow of experiences that will allow more people to experience the game naturally.


This use case is positioned as the first proof-of-concept example showing that tokens can be linked to real experiences and circulation, starting with real IP and works.

Going forward, we envision gradually expanding this system we have built to include artist fan club projects, real-life goods, digital items, event-linked initiatives, etc. FPL will be incorporated as an option for enjoying these experiences more deeply, and we aim to create an ecosystem in which value circulates the more fans participate.
This initiative is the first step, and we will continue to work with Fanpla to pursue new forms of music and entertainment that naturally link fan experiences with the token economy.

■THE YELLOW MONKEY プロフィール

They gained popularity with their unique, glamorous style, which had its roots in glam rock, and made their major debut in May 1992. They became one of the rock bands that represented the Japanese music scene in the 1990s in terms of both live attendance and CD sales, but went on hiatus after their performance at Tokyo Dome on January 8, 2001. They remained on hiatus for the rest of the year, and disbanded in 2004.
On January 8, 2016, they announced their reunion. Starting with a nationwide arena tour that drew 220,000 people, they have been busy with festival appearances, a nationwide hall tour, and the release of their first new song in 15 years, and on New Year's Eve they made their first appearance on the NHK Kouhaku Uta Gassen.
In 2017, they released three consecutive digital releases, released the documentary film "Oto Toki," and performed at Tokyo Dome for the first time in 17 years. In 2018, they began releasing all of their singles and albums worldwide.
In 2019, they released their ninth original album, "9999," their first in 19 years, and their nationwide arena tour supporting the album was a huge success. On December 28th of the same year, marking their 30th anniversary, the band kicked off their first ever dome tour in Tokyo, Nagoya, and Osaka, the largest in their history, but the final two-day show at Tokyo Dome had to be canceled due to the impact of COVID-19. Starting in November 2020, they performed a total of four shows as a replacement, including at Tokyo Dome and Nippon Budokan.
In 2024, they will hold their first concert at Tokyo Dome in about four years, and in May they will release their 10th original album, "Sparkle X." Starting in October, they will complete a tour of 30 shows over the course of about six months.
