[NIGHTMARE Profile]
The band was formed on January 1, 2000.
The band consists of five members: YOMI (Vo), Hitsugi (G), Sakito (G), Ni~ya (B), and RUKA (Dr).
Initially, they were active in their hometown of Sendai, but later moved to Tokyo. With the strong personalities of the members and their hard-hitting yet melodic musical style, they attracted large numbers of people to their live shows, and made their major debut on August 21, 2003 with the single "-Believe-".
The singles "the WORLD/Alumina," released in October 2006, were chosen as the opening and ending theme songs for the popular anime series "Death Note" (both songs), and the band became an instant hit.
In 2007, they successfully held their first concert at the Nippon Budokan, and have continued to release music and perform live shows ever since.
However, in 2016, the band suddenly went on hiatus, with each member pursuing their own individual interests, including starting solo projects.
They resumed activities in 2020, marking the 20th anniversary of their formation.
On February 11th of the same year, they held the "NIGHTMARE 20th Anniversary SPECIAL LIVE "GIANIZM ~Saiaku~"" concert at Yokohama Arena, making their comeback in front of enthusiastic fans.
Shortly after, although their activities were restricted due to the COVID-19 pandemic, they released their first 20th Anniversary single, "ink," in October.
The 20th anniversary tour was also completed successfully while following the guidelines.
In March 2021, they released their second comeback single, "cry for the moon," and embarked on a tour.
In March 2022, they will release their first full album in seven years, "NOX:LUX," and will also embark on an album tour.
In March 2023, to coincide with the release of their single "FAREWELL," they embarked on a live house tour that could be described as a return to their roots. They put on spectacular performances in various locations, demonstrating their abilities as a live band.
In 2024, leading up to their 25th anniversary, in September they will perform "Tenka Sai Bousou", a show reminiscent of "Tenka Daibousou" performed at Hibiya Open-Air Concert Hall in 2005, as well as their first overseas performance (in Taiwan).
A nationwide tour is planned for the autumn and beyond, and they are expected to continue their non-stop success.
